Grand Canyon Hiking

Grand Canyon is a very massive canyon in the world that extends and borders states of the USA, like Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New-Mexico. Grand Canyon has awe-inspiring spots to view and climb. A heaven for the hikers having trails and challenging hills. Climber at any category ranging from beginner to a fiend could have a contentful experience in climbing.

I had a family trip at the age of 10 to Las Vegas (Not to Las Vegas strip, I heard your mind voice). My parents were hiding the place from me. We took a car from Greyhound and entered the Grand Canyon zone. Grand Canyon, at the age of 10, with the grandeur of nature, amazed me and also inspired me to become a hiker. We had a road trip at that time for almost a week, covering the best national parks, like Grand Canyon National park, Bryce Canyon national park, Glen canyon national park, Zion national park, which involved no trekking. It was just a family outing with small kids. A simple road trip and involved small trial visits in the national park, and the maximum hike we made was to visit Horse Shoe Bend.

There are several hiking spots in the Grand Canyon, Listing down the hikes that excited me…

Grand Canyon down hike to Colorado river

Runs down the river Colorado under the Grand Canyon viewpoint, there used to take place many adventures rides from Helicopter view to Rafting in the Colorado River. For a hiker like me, nothing makes me happier than descending towards the Colorado River from the massive Grand Canyon. The best spot to choose for a descending hike is the Bright Angel trail. By choosing the Bright angel trail among the other two trial paths, like the South Kaibab Trail and North Kaibab trail, I was able to return to the rim on the same day. I packed enough food and water for a day.

Angel’s Landing hike in Zion National Park

Zion National park has many hiking trails, and the water trails that made my hiker nerve torched to reach the peak. Walking at least a mile in the water trial of the virgin river felt awesome. From the Virgin River, I took a paved trail routing to Angel’s landing hiking path. From there, there are many elevations and short switching along the lush canyon paths. The elevation is along the route of the Virgin River, which has many attractive views and hence named as Angel’s Landing. The Trail path is shaded, which makes the hike endurable but still, it has some challenging spots to hike, where hiking is not possible without proper training.

Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National park has so many trial paths ranging from Easy, moderate, and Strenuous Paths. I was able to handle all the trail paths successfully. Yeah, I deserve a clap for my strength and courage at this age. I have supportive friends as well, which made my hiking experience filled with laughter and beautiful moments.

Bryce Canyon National park has:

  • Sunset point – It is the easiest hike leading to scenic Bryce Amphitheater. People at any age can take this trail path.
  • Bristlecone Loop – A trail along with many Bristlecone pine trees, through a spruce-fir forest and expansive vistas.
  • Rim Trail – It is present across sunset point, walk along the rim of Bryce Amphitheater, which makes the Hoodoos visible from above.
  • Queen’s Trial – It is a descend trail in the canyon.
  • Mossy cave – Dripping Moses in the summer at the edge of the cave can be seen.

The listed above are the easy trails in the Bryce canyon. Follows some of the challenging trails, I achieved climbing.

Navajo Loop, Navajo combination loop, Tower Bridge, Hat shop, Sheep creek, Fairyland Loop, Peekaboo Loop, Peekaboo Combination Loop, and Bryce Amphitheater Traverse, all these have many ascending elevations requiring proper training to climb, and many spots creating nauseating feel on viewing down. In the end, all the pains fade away on watching the viewpoints, that fills the soul with ecstasy.

Antelope Canyon Hiking

Antelope Canyon amazed me with the views of Sandstone Geological formation. The Hiking involved moderate effort only, but it has stunning views in both Upper antelope canyon and Lower antelope canyon.

The stunning pictures are hanging in the walls of my room, which is never tires or bores me to watch it every minute.

Things to remember

  • Never aim to hike the big and challenging trails in the beginning.
  • Train your body regularly with elevated cardio and strength training.
  • If you are afraid of height, avoid trekking or hiking.
  • Have a guided tour at the beginning.
  • Sometimes, turning around is the best choice, do not risk your precious life for an adventure. If you still want to challenge yourself and achieve, come back with proper training.
