The city of Los Angeles is the dream city of the USA. It is filled with excitement and bustling life. For me, however, it has more charm. This is the city my parents live in. I recently went to see my parents after a long gap due to the lockdown. My recent visit inspired me to write about this city which is so close to my heart and my filial life.
There are innumerable exciting things you can count on when it comes to Los Angeles. The town life, the Santa Monica, the Hollywood, and the Bel Air to name a few, are the reasons why this city is so popular and termed as the boulevard of dreams. This is the reason why this is one of the most visited places in the world.
The nightlife in Los Angeles is happening as daily life. The nightlife sometimes seems more buzzing. The bars, restaurants, and cafes come to new life. But the main attractions are the live performances, neon light shows, walking tours, and nature trails. Here is a list of few places that you can go-to for enjoying a night in Los Angeles.
Griffith Park Hike
The Griffith Park hike is locally popular for sunset hikes. You can start your nightlife very early here, right from sunset time. The night hikes are managed by a club- the Sierra Club. You opt-out of their different hiking adventures designed as per the difficulty level. Ranging from the easy to moderate to hard, all are exciting.
The club organizes a special hiking program on such Friday that falls closest to the full moon. This special hike is a 2.5hr night hike, including a potluck at a place that looks almost heavenly during the full moon night.
Universal CityWalk
If you are planning a visit to Hollywood don’t forget to go to the Universal CityWalk near Universal Studios. The Universal CityWalk is an amusement park that does not demand an entry ticket. The walkway is free to enter all full of exciting things to do. There are several retail shops, dessert shops, and restaurants. This is a great place to go to for a night out with family. Young and old enjoy this walkway equally.
Because this is Hollywood, you must expect a movie theatre nearby. In ambiance created by the neon signage, adds to the fun. From Monday to Wednesday the Universal CityWalk remains open till 9 pm, on Fridays and Saturdays it is open till 11 pm, and on Sundays, it remains open until 10 pm.
Neon Cruise
If you wish to take a night tour of the Los Angeles neighborhood, then opt for a Neon Cruise hosted by the Museum of Neon Art. This is a pleasing night cruise taken on a convertible bus around the Los Angeles neighborhood. You will get to see attractions such as Downtown LA, Hollywood, Chinatown, etc. during the cruise. During the tour a person would be narrating about the places you get to see, and about the historical significance of the Neon lights in LA
Enjoy the food
The Los Angeles city has been rightly called the food capital of the west coast. The food market and food tour of the city is growing day by day. Not only do you get to enjoy the food of California here, but all the cuisines from around the world. With almost an uncountable number of food places in LA, it is very difficult to tell you about the places you should visit. However, based on my frequent visits and insider’s knowledge of the city, I have would name the following as some of the best restaurants of LA: Infinitely Dinner Society’s Midnight Snacks Canter’s, BCD Tofu House, and California Donuts.
What about you?
